    Plants and Frigid Weather

Sometimes it’s not the frigid weather that affects the plants, it’s the freeze/thaw cycle that causes the soil to push the plant upward. Also, frozen soil can curb the amount of water the plants can receive which can cause the plants to die from lack of water. Mulch is a great insulator and can protect plants from the fluctuations in temperature.
