2013 Texas Housing Market Surge a Boon for College Station Realtors

The economy might have been down in the dumps for the past few years, but signs of recovery have been leaving their mark lately in renewed activities in home sales and construction. This positive news has boosted the confidence of long-established college station realtors.

One of the big state winners in the recent surge of real-estate sales is Texas. The state has posted an increase in home sales in the past year, which seems to bode well for the market this year.  The first quarter of 2014, in fact, showed positive gains in the real estate market across the state. Sandra Baker, a reporter for the Texas Star-Telegram, discusses the recent gains made by the local housing market:

Of all the homes bought in Texas last year, 30 percent were new, a 4 percent increase from 2012, according to the 2014 Texas Home Buyers and Sellers report by the Texas Association of Realtors.

Nationwide, new homes accounted for 16 percent of all the homes sold last year, unchanged from 2012, the report said.

Association Chairman Dan Hatfield said the report shows “the impact of the last few years’ strong housing market and economic growth on Texas home buyers and sellers.”

People are starting to have the money again, which gives them more purchasing power to invest in residential homes and properties.

A strong real estate market will stir up activities among experienced realtors, such Traditions Realty Team, a company that specializes in properties in the Bryan and College Station areas. These cities offer a range of different properties for sale, including commercial storefronts, industrial buildings, and of course, residential housing—properties to match the need of any prospective investor.  The renowned Texas A&M University in College Station creates for the city a built-in customer base of college students, faculty, and school workers on the lookout for affordable housing.

With the current real estate market on the upswing, potential homebuyers and property investors will find more favorable reasons—expanded inventory, housing affordability, accommodating mortgage lending services—to buy their property now.  You can count on your realtor in College Station to provide professional and efficient service with his company’s upgraded multiple listing systems and technology to help you find the home to match your needs.
